 ISO Resins

Product Features & Benefits:

ISO Resin is a medium viscosity, medium reactive polyester resin based on Isophthalic acid and superior glycols. It exhibits good mechanical and electrical properties together with good chemical resistance compared to general-purpose resins.
ISO rapidly wets the surface of glass fiber in the form of cloth mat or chopped fiber to produce laminates and moldings. Its superior chemicals resistance towards most mineral and organic acids, solvents and oils make an ideal choice for making glass reinforced chemical process equipment, storage tanks, tankers, ducting, hoods etc. for handling chemicals at ambient temperature.  Vinylester Resins

Product Features & Applications

Vinylester is a specially formulated grade Vinyl ester plain with excellent resistance to a wide range of corrosive chemical environments at room and elevated temperature. It is non promoted, non-thixotropic type and formulated chemical resistant unsaturated polyester resin based on selective epoxy and meth-acrylic acid processed carefully to specific molecular weight, dissolved in Styrene monomer in the presence of specially chosen inhibitor for storage life of over months at room temperature. The VER is resistant for wide range of chemicals/fluid for exposure & application. The resin is especially suitable for filament winding and lay up/spray up, pultrusion pipelines, chemical process equipments, like Reactors, Blowers, fume extraction equipments is resistant for wide range of chemicals/fluid for exposure & application.

Typical Application:

  • For fabrication of Bridge Support, ladder etc. exposed to stringent, sewerage & effluents.

 Gelcoat

Product Features & Benefits:

These resins are tailor make to meet the diverse needs of GRP/FRP industry and meeting the requirements of customers interest of improved efficiency and superior performance of finished product.

GELCOAT is a thixotropic, quick-curing superior phthalic anhydride and propylene glycol based unsaturated polyester resin for general coating thixotropic applications. It is neither waxed nor pre-accelerated and suitable for both hand lay-up application and gun spray application. However, gun spray- up application is preferable because it can apply the resin evenly and spreading a thin coat without any pinholes.

Gelcoat resin coated surface is glossy after cured. It has good mechanical properties and water resistance and is resistance to mild chemicals and ultra-violet light, thus enhancing the durability of glassfibre reinforced plastics (GRP) products. Besides, the time between gelation and cure is short for espol™ 20.00 gelcoat resin and therefore productivity can be increased.

As a gelcoating agent, gelcoat resin can be applied, using general purpose resin as back up material, to a variety of GRP products. To improve the quality of a GRP product, general purpose laminating resin is recommended as back up material of RTM grade for RTM processing.
gelcoat resin mixed with colorants can be used as translucent coating material.

FIBER GLASS MATS

 Chopped Strand Mat (CSM)

Chopped Strand Mat

Glass fiber combines the electrical and mechanical properties of traditional E-glass with the acid corrosion resistance of E-CR glass.

Product Description

CSM mat is made of randomly oriented chopped glass strands bonded together in mat form using an emulsion binder. The emulsion binder uniquely bonds the mat so that it conforms rapidly to highly contoured molds. It is a porous, well bonded mat which maintains its integrity during the impregnation process and provides an uniform wet-through rate. The emulsion binder produces superior handling properties compared to powder bonded mats.Product Application

  • CSM mat is a reinforcement for use with unsaturated polyester resins in the hand lay-up process. Ideal for applications such as auto parts, boats, chemical tanks and swimming pools.
  • Typical applications are those which require a high glass content and good mechanical properties. CSM is ideal in applications requiring rapid impregnation and excellent wetting. CSM has excellent handling and tailoring properties as well as the ability to conform rapidly to even the most complex molds.

 Woven Roving

Product Description

Woven Roving provides an inexpensive means to laminate large, flat areas that call for rapid build-up and high strength reinforcement. It is not suited for applications that require conformability.

Woven roving is often used with chopped strand mat (CSM) to reinforce other materials and make repairs. In this specific case, it should be used with polyester or vinyl ester resin only, as the CSM keeps it from being compatible with epoxy. Otherwise, woven roving is compatible with all of the resins on this site.

Tips

  • Woven roving should be used with mat whenever bonding to plywood or making repairs.
  • Will require a finer fabric to block print.
  • Fabrics need to be oriented so the fiber yarns run parallel to the expected loads. If extra strength is needed in a different direction, another ply must be added at an angle to the first. The most common angles are +/- 45 degrees.

 Surface Tissue

Product Description

Fiberglass Surface tissue mat is mainly used as the surface layers of FRP products. It is characterized by uniform fiber dispersion,smooth surface, soft hand-feeling, low binder content, fast resin impregnation and good mould obedience. This line of product falls into two catalogues: filament winding type CBM series and hand lay-up type SBM series .CBM surfacing mat is most suitable for warping FRP Pipes and vessels because it is capable of significantly improving the performances of surface layer to realize longer lifetime and resistance against corrosion, leakage and compression. SBM surfacing mat is suitable for moulding with sophisticated contours while it is characterized by its good mould obedience and fast resin saturating, it is indispensable materials for high quality moulds and FRP products as it is capable of covering up the texture of under layers to create high gloss surface that give rise to improved strength and corrosion resistance .the surfacing mats in these two categories are also applicable to other FRP moulding process such as press moulding spary-up, centrifugal rotaing moulding.

Product Description

  • Solvent resistant white bristle laminating brushes are used throughout the GRP industry. The wooden handle makes it less slippery when wearing gloves.

        Sealers

          A low viscosity, rapid curing, penetrating sealer that anchors lacquers, urethanes, polyesters, vinyl esters and most epoxies to a variety of substrates. Use for surfacing composite plugs and patterns and for sealing woods and veneers, plaster, concrete, and GRP surfaces. Can be applied with a brush, roller, cloth wiper. Sealer is fast curing with surfaces being ready for topcoats in 1 to 2 hours.

          Primer

          Duratec primer provides rapid coat build-up and a smooth surface with high gloss. Use it with composite plugs and patterns, and to prime a growing number of wood products–including furniture, musical instruments, and architectural applications.

          Mold Repair Putty

          Duratec Mold Repair Putty allows for a fast repair of molds made with tooling gelcoat. The repair can be sanded and polished to a gloss. Since Mold Repair Putty does not require a topcat you can eliminate extra work time. The result will be a porosity free surface with less time and effort.

          Maximum Mold Release Wax

            High Temperature Mold Release Wax
